About This Guide
This guide is designed to help you understand who I am, how I operate, and how to best collaborate with me. Inspired by Charles Hudson and First Round Review. If you have one, I'd love to read it!
My Roots
- Born in the UK, raised in Tottenham, London.
- Ghanaian heritage: Grew up with strong cultural values (respect for elders, funeral customs).
- Influenced by Tottenham's diversity and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Early awareness of privilege and the opportunity gap.
Key Influences
- Family: Hardworking father, faith-based risk-taking mother, entrepreneurial brothers, guardian to my elder sister, inspiring wife.
- Experiences: Backpacking across Latin America & East Africa, living in South Africa & San Francisco, working as an entrepreneur, then operator in small, medium and enterprise companies followed by Venture Capital as an investor addressing diversity in tech (leading to MBE).
- Personal: Need for alone time to reflect, journal, and create.

Guiding Principles
- Authenticity: Be 100% yourself; find environments where you belong.
- After my father passed away in 2013, I realised the shortness of life and decided to back myself and tap more into who I was in and outside of work
- Long Game: Measure life in decades, focus on direction over speed.
- Consistency: Show up and practice what you learn.
